Mission: To save our democracy by ending the corrupting influence of big money in our political system.
A self-described “democracy experiment,” MAYDAY.US is a super PAC working to elect campaign finance reformers at all levels of democracy. In doing so, MAYDAY.US aims to put itself—and all other super PACs—out of business because they’re no longer allowed or needed.
Current Democracy Work
MAYDAY.US launched with $11 million in crowd-sourced donations. It supported eight pro-reform candidates in the 2014 midterm elections in an effort to make campaign finance a make-or-break issue. In the non-election year of 2015, MAYDAY.US asked members of Congress to co-sponsor one of five legislative proposals (from both sides of the aisle) that would limit the corrupting influence of money in politics. Building on this work, in 2016 MAYDAY.US is campaigning for pro-reform candidates.
Recent Successes
With over 20,000 phone calls and on-the-ground organizing in 18 states, MAYDAY.US succeeded in getting 36 members of Congress to sign on to fundamental reform in 2015.
