Voto Latino

Mission: To provide roadmaps for Latinos on "how to become leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and really anything else possible," and to encourage Latinos to get more involved in the civic process through technology, media, social networks, and high-profile artists.

As a pioneering civic media organization, Voto Latino works to transform America through Latinos' innate leadership. Empowering Latinos to be active in American democracy, Voto Latino provides democracy education and promotes engagement through innovative digital campaigns, pop culture, and grassroots voices.

Current Democracy Work

Voto Latino (VL) encourages Latinos' civic engagement to have their voices heard at the local, state, and national levels through voter registration campaigns, strategic partnerships, get-out-the-vote initiatives, its online Election Center, and more. It also initiates leadership programs to help young Latinos be change makers, such as through its Power Summit Conference and the VL Innovators Challenge. In 2010, Voto Latino partnered with Global Grind to launch its United We Win campaign, a mobilization effort in response to institutionalized racial profiling and discrimination. The campaign continues its work today mobilizing African Americans and Latinos to register to vote as a way to create meaningful change and address racial profiling issues in the United States. Voto Latino (VL) also provides young Latinos platforms to advocate for issues that matter to them, such as through its partner campaign Yo Soy that addresses silence around sex education, birth control, abortion, and young parenting within Latina/o communities.

Recent Successes

Voto Latino successfully hosted the VL Power Summit 2016 in Las Vegas and Nebraska to help Latinos build up their career paths and contribute to their own communities. Partnered with Brunswick Group, Voto Latino hosted the 6th Annual "Our Voices: Celebrating Diversity in Media," which brought VL organizers and supporters together to celebrate diversity in media.
