Over 3/4 of grain in US used for ethanol and feed


2012: Total Grain Consumption in the United States = 318 million tons – 118 million tons is Corn Used for Ethanol; 126 million tons is Feedgrain; and 74 million tons is Grain Used for Food (118 + 126 = ~77% of grain in the United States is used for ethanol and feed). Grains include barley, corn, millet, mixed grain, oats, rice, rye, sorghum, and wheat.
