Agriculture contributes to over 20 percent of global anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. CO2 emissions per hectare of organic agriculture systems are 48 to 66 percent lower than in conventional systems. [me organic ag’s contribution to co2 emissions is only 1/3 to ½ to that of chemically dependent systems.]
