Food Project (Boston) 1.7 million budget. 150,000 pounds of organic produce each year. 60,000 lbs go to food pantries and shelves; part sold by the youth in farmers market; some goes to 225 families who are part of a CSA; getting a commercial kitchen so that they can prepare stuff they will sell; Kellogg gave grant for teaching other groups how to apply this model elsewhere. [Jiwon notes here: 5. “Since 1991, The Food Project in Boston has built a national model of engaging young people in personal and social change through sustainable agriculture. Food from the farms is distributed through community supported agriculture programs (CSA) and farmers’ markets, and donated to local hunger relief organizations. Young people working in the programs participate in all of these distribution streams.” http://thefoodproject.org/what-we-do"]
