Global emissions of co2 1990 to 2007

Global emissions of carbon dioxide from fossil fuel combustion and cement porduction rose from 22.6 billion tons in 1990 to an estimated 31 billion tons in 2007 - a staggering 37 percent increase. This is 85 million tons of carbon dioxide spilled into the atmosphere each day- or 13 kilograms on average per person. The annual increase in emissions shot from 1 percent per year in 1990s to 3.5 percent a year from 2000 to 2007- with China accounting for most of that remarkable leap.
