India now has second largest stockpile of food in world (71m tons), only China with more

"Spurred by agricultural innovation and generous farm subsidies, India now grows so much food that it has a bigger grain stockpile than any country except China, and it exports some of it to countries like Saudi Arabia and Australia." Despite this, 21% of population does not get enough to eat. The stockpile, as of May 2012, is 71 million tons of wheat and rice, which is 20% more than in 2011 (cited later on in article).
