World population is double that of 1960, having reached 6.1 billion. It's projected to reach 9.3 billion by 2050 " UNPF reports. Growth will be from developing nations, while industrialized countries' populations will remain stable. Report said that 2 billion people already lack sufficient food; water use has increased 6 times over the past 70 years; and that by 2050, 4.2 billion will live in countries where their basic needs cannot be met.
