According to the table on page 11, a 1% increase in humus increases water retention by 160,000 litres/ha. This translates to over 104,400 gallons per acre.

Kelly’s Math: Goal: Translate 160,000 liters/ha to gallons per acre 0.264 gallons per liter x 160,000 liters = 42,267.5 gallons per hectare 2.471 acres per hectare x 42,267.5 gallons per hectare = 104,442.993 gallons per acre
