Tyson saves $288 million a year on grain subsidies, would otherwise be prohibitively expensive


"Purchasing below-cost corn and soybeans for animal feed saves Tyson, for example, $288 million a year compared to what the cost would be if the agribusiness paid the unaltered price. If agribusiness had to pay the actual costs of raising animals for food--instead of being flooded with subsidized grain for feed--factory farming would be prohibitively expensive."
